Happy New Year!

I think it is fair to say that it is shaping up to be an INTERESTING year all round. From the inauguration of Barack Obama later this month to the economic turmoil that seems to have the hardiest of 'experts' in a spin, the most common comment seems to be 'let's wait and see'.

In the meantime, plans and projects at One and All are pushing ahead with a lot happening behind the scenes. We hope to be able to provide you over the coming months with information and opportunities to become involved that will not result in 'taking your eye off the ball' and in fact will assist in engaging with the best talent available in a time of uncertainty.

One of these is the Reverse Mentoring Programme and I'd encourage you to read the information below and think about people that might enjoy being involved.

Whatever transpires over the coming months, I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for the year ahead.

Seeking Candidates for Reverse Mentoring
"In order to treat people fairly,
sometimes you have to treat people differently."

We have had a tremendous response from people who wish to act as Mentors and are now looking for more Mentees to take part.

The aim of the programme is to engage with talented people from diverse backgrounds who are currently working in hospitality and are interested in establishing a career.

Through mentoring we hope to assist them to learn more about themselves and the skills, experience and mindset needed to get ahead and carve out a career.

At the same time, Mentors want to learn more about what it is like to be from a variety of minority groups, and how the sector may be able to evolve to engage more easily with various groups.

How will it work?
When does it start?
Who can get involved?

So, think about the talented people in your business who might enjoy being involved and who will both gain from and contribute to the experience.

Dates have been confirmed for early 2009

The One and All Discussion Forums are the perfect opporuntity for companies to involve and engage people from different areas within their business with the aims of One and All and ways in which to create an inclusive company culture - one in which everyone can thrive and have the chance to reach their full potential.

The first three sessions are for those in Operations, Human Resources and Chefs and will be held in London once a month from January.

Operations, January 30th from 8.30 - 10.30am
Human Resources, February 19th from 8.30 - 10.30am
Chefs, March 19th from 8.30 - 10.30am
