In order to give focus to the objectives of One and All there are four key areas that we are particularly focusing on at present:
And within those areas the particular concerns that we have been most actively involved with are:
Gender Issues
Encouraging more female representation on Boards and in order to achieve this supporting the development of female managers so that the pipeline of suitable future female board members continues to grow.
Ethnic Diversity
To emphasise to businesses that in this multicultural world a diverse workforce which reflects the society in which we do business is a positive asset. In addition with the tightening of immigration restrictions for non EU migrants there is particular need for UK nationals to be trained in ethnic cuisine.
Disability
To make the case that providing support and information for disabled customers is good business sense as well as the right thing to do.. To emphasise that disability isn’t just about wheelchair access but covers many other issues such as impairment of sight or hearing.
Ageism
To encourage Hospitality businesses to be more open minded about employing older workers. As the demographic changes in the workforce mean that older workers become an ever greater proportion of the working population this will mean that employers will have to adapt to these changes.
